Platelet-Rich Plasma
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a preparation obtained from the patient’s blood, most commonly drawn from the elbow vein, similar to a standard blood draw from the forearm. Administration of the PRP significantly accelerates the tissue regeneration process. Platelet-rich plasma is used in various fields of dentistry including periodontology, implantology, maxillofacial surgery, and for patients after complicated extractions. During implant and prosthetic treatment, a common issue encountered in patients is the lack of bone or gum tissue. The biomaterial obtained through the centrifugation of the patient’s blood is designed to stimulate bone growth and accelerate tissue healing. This enables the restoration of tissue structures, especially in anatomically challenging areas of the oral cavity.
