Removal of Broken Instruments

During root canal treatment, it’s possible for a used instrument to become wedged and break, leaving a fragment of the tool inside the tooth. This can happen regardless of the dentist’s knowledge and diligence. A broken instrument often needs to be removed because without doing so, proper shaping, cleaning, and filling of the canal cannot be achieved. Extracting retained instrument fragments is a complex and challenging procedure. It requires a high level of expertise from the dentist as well as appropriate equipment. Unfortunately, attempts to remove broken instruments do not always succeed. In our clinic, using state-of-the-art equipment, we specialize in the removal of broken instruments and often provide this service upon request from other dental practices as well.
