All-on-4 is an implantological method developed by Dr. Paulo Malo, allowing for the restoration of full dentition with just four implants in a single day. This method may seem simple, but in practice, it is a complex procedure that requires a lot of work and precision.

STAGES OF TREATMENT

The first stage of treatment involves a thorough examination of the oral cavity, as well as the taking of X-rays and a computer scan. Based on these, the patient is assessed for the procedure, referred for bone grafting if necessary, and the reconstruction results are planned.

The implantation of implants is performed under local anesthesia, so it is completely painless. It requires the preparation of the appropriate sockets and the placement of properly mounted abutments in the prepared openings.

The healing process takes several months. During this time, the patient can use temporary solutions attached to the implanted implants.

Once the healing is complete, the temporary reconstruction is replaced with the final one, prepared by a dental technician based on an impression or a 3D scan.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF ALL-ON-4

The All-on-4 procedure is a significant opportunity to improve the quality of life, even for patients who have lost most of their teeth, suffer from gum diseases, or have bone deficiencies. The procedure is completed in a single day, and the temporary bridge is almost immediately attached after implant placement. Modern technologies help reduce discomfort during and after the procedure, and the procedure itself is carried out under local anesthesia, making it painless. The implants and the bridge attached to them are made from high-quality materials that are safe and well-tolerated by the body. The new restoration closely resembles natural teeth.

The main factor that may lead a patient to reconsider is the cost of the procedure, which, despite the high-quality materials used, is not among the lowest-priced options.

CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR THE PROCEDURE

The All-on-4 technology was created to make it accessible to as many people as possible, but there are certain contraindications that exclude a patient from the possibility of undergoing the procedure. These include, among others, severe atrophy of the jawbone, cancerous conditions, bone inflammation, or insufficient space in the bite.

The procedure will also not be performed on individuals under the age of 18 and pregnant women. Before starting treatment, it is important to inform the doctor about cardiovascular diseases, uncontrolled type 2 diabetes, and medications being taken.
